Sweet September

I cannot believe how fast time is flying. Owen will be HERE next month. Amazing. I have been non-stop this week getting everything (house, gifts, groceries, ensembles) ready for our baby showers this weekend! I am SOOOOO excited, all off my BFFs will be in the same place at the same time. I don't think this has happened since our wedding last year. (May 23 to be exact ;)) The shower on Saturday is thrown by my sister and my friends and is a couples shower! The shower on Sunday is thrown by a friend of the family and is a 'girly' shower.
Jer and I have also been getting some last minute things done. We found a cute little stool at Ikea a few weeks ago for us to sit on while we bathe Owen in the tub. It was originally plain wood, but we wanted to make it a little more 'us'. I couldn't find an exact picture on the web site of what it looked like before, but the stool looks identical to the top part of this stool.
We couldn't take a 'before' picture because almost everything at Ikea has to be put together. So we painted the stool and then put it together. By 'we' I mean Jer.

You likes? We used the blue left over from his letters and the green is from a frame I painted that's in his bathroom.

I was at Wal-Mart today and found Mary Janes!! No, not the shoe, and no, not the kind you smoke. The CANDY. They're Halloween candies and they are delightful. I couldn't find them last year, so this year I stocked up!

If you've never had them... it's an individually wrapped piece of peanut butter toffee *correction* TAFFY with real peanut butter in the middle.

When I got home, I found this in my mail box...

It's Owen's baby book! It's from Etsy and we couldn't be happier with it! I started crying when I was flipping through the pages... I know this sounds so lame, but it FINALLY hit me that I'm going to be a Mom. Hmm that didn't take long?!
Jer and I went to our 'Prepared Childbirth' class on Saturday and I must say, we both left feeling very prepared (for lack of a better word). I am now so anxious, it's not even funny.

I subbed for the first time since June on Tuesday! I thought it was going to be a lot harder since I am 8 1/2 months pregnant now, but it was great. The staff and students were very accommodating and polite. I love my (part time) job.

Nothing else really new, I just finished putting the final touches on the shower hostess gifts. They are so cute, I can't wait to give them to the girls and the Grandmas!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week... I have a check-up tomorrow to make sure everything is moving along with the little guy.

Hopefully Jer finishes up his fantasy football draft soon so we can watch our Netflixed 'Happiest Baby on the Block'....

XOXO Haley

  2. Oh I love your baby book! I tried to be really good with Liam's-- all his monthly pages are filled with writing- but not so much the "spiritual" ones... because to be frank, when he's in church, he's playing, he's not picking out favorite hymns or scripture. And my "shower" pages are all blank, but I figure the important ones are filled in, the ones he'll care about in the future. It's a lot of fun, and it's a treasure to have.

I LOVE the bloggity makeover-- can't wait to see a REAL (you know what I mean) picture of precious baby Owen. You're going to be a mommy so soon!!

  4. pretty sure with gray and i's obsession with peanut butter, we will definitely be making a trip to walmart to get some of those! i cant believe i have never heard of them!

LOVE owen's baby book and im kind of obsessing over his stool! ive been trying to find a cute one for gray's bathroom so he can brush his teeth at the sink and to reach certain things, so i might have to hit ikea for a stool that i can personalize for my "little baby"

i cant wait to shower you, jere and owen all weekend long! love you so much!
