Embrace The Camera Day 2

Alright, i'm already breaking the rules... but Jer is at a flag football game tonight and I haven't taught Lola how to take my picture yet. I totally would've gone and been a 'good wife' to support my husband on the football field, but it is 20 minutes away and he is going out with the guys afterwards! Anywho, the picture is technically of Owen and I, but just not my whole body. I scored major loot at Old Navy today... everything in the store was 40 % off! Including already marked-down merchandise. I was out birthday shopping for Jer, but I knew he wouldn't mind me picking up a few things for his preggers wife and future baby boy. The comfy green capris I am wearing were marked down to $5 and the pants in the picture that are 1/2 of a PJ set were $4. They are 3-6 months, so he won't be able to wear them for a while, but I couldn't pass them up.

Here are the PJ's...

And a cute little onesie I picked up while at Target the other day..

I already have my SATC 2 outfit picked out for tomorrow... my mom and I are going tomorrow morning and I can't wait!

P.S.- I have to brag on Jer a little bit... not only does he give me everything i've ever needed including a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in but also the things I want. We were sitting on the couch the other day and I saw him looking at the Toyota Center web site at tickets for Buble. I said 'they're sold out, don't even bother.' He said, 'Well I just got an email that they released more tickets for two sections.' I said something not for virgin ears like, 'Shut the f*** up! I didn't even know you could sign up for something like that!' and then proceeded to buy me and my bff Christy two tickets for his concert here!! God I love that man.

First Wedding Anniversary

Hello all! This weekend was jam-packed. Lola is recovering from playing all weekend at Rover Oaks and I am recovering from the early mornings.

Our first wedding anniversary was yesterday, the 23rd. But, we were going to be in Tulsa for Brock's christening that day, so we decided to celebrate on Friday before we left. Jer started off the celebration by bringing me a huge, beautiful bouquet of our wedding flowers. While I got ready for dinner, Jer put Owen's crib together!

We went to Brenner's and had the best table in the restaurant (according to our waiter ;)). Towards to end of our meal, it really did prove to be the best table in the restaurant because right outside of our window, a couple got engaged! It was so special and magical to watch. It reminded me of when Jer and I were engaged 2 1/2 years ago!

The food was delicious... I seriously wanted to bathe in our mashed potatoes! Heavenly. After dinner, we headed back to our house to stare at Owen's complete crib a little longer and pack up for Tulsa!

I will post tomorrow about Brock's Christening, but for now I must start dinner!

A Few of Owen's Things

My new hobby is finding cute things for Owen and his room. I cannot drive by a Target without going in and spending at least 30 minutes in the baby aisles. I am officially obsessed.

A few things I got today...

This picture frame at Kohl's that was 80% off!! I can't wait to put a picture of Owen and Jer in it.

I just received this in the mail today from Etsy. Disney fans will know exactly what this quote is from.

If you're not a Disney connoisseur, the quote is from Peter Pan and is referring to Neverland.

A web site I found while perusing the internet for everything baby boy is Land of Nod. I am so excited about these little treasures arriving on my door step any day now.

The colors could not be more perfect for Owen's room and it comes with non-toxic white paint to make your own handprints! Or three handprints and one paw print in our case.

This weekend we are celebrating our seventh year together and our first wedding anniversary! We are going to dinner Friday night at Brennar's and then heading up to Tulsa, Oklahoma for Brock's christening! Jer and I are going to be his Godparents, and we could not be more honored. Can't wait to squeeze these chubby cheeks.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Owen's Nursery

Here is a sneak peak of what we are doing with Owen's nursery... we have the room painted and new blinds and a new fan installed. We have ordered the crib, changing table/dresser, glider and rug! We ordered all of the furniture this past Saturday and have already received his crib mattress. We found a perfect bookshelf at Home Goods on Sunday that is already filled with his goodies! We definitely aren't wasting anytime getting his room ready. Here are some pictures of what we have...

Along with the main colors of blue, green and chocolate brown, we are also adding pops of bright orange around the room.

I am 19 weeks and 2 days today... not much has changed pregnancy wise. Other than the fact that we actually know we are having a boy and can stop guessing! Our ultrasound couldn't have gone better, as soon as the ultrasound tech started moving the sonogram thing on my belly, I could see his little pee pee. Then she asked, 'do you want to know what it is?' We all (me, Jer, my mom, my dad and Jer's mom) said 'YES!' and she said... 'it's a boy!'. I started crying and Jer had a little tear in his eye. It was an odd feeling FINALLY knowing what we are going to have. I had a proud feeling right after knowing that we are going to have a little boy. Jer took a picture of the ultrasound screen that said it was a boy with an arrow pointing at his pee pee and sent it to our siblings then close friends.

After our ultrasound, I had a checkup with my OB who said Owen is weighing in at a healthy 10 ounces and that everything from the ultrasound looked 'normal' and healthy. She also said I have gained 3 pounds this whole pregnancy, which is kind of unbelievable. I definitely don't miss a meal these days and have regular snack time every hour or so!

Well, that's about it from this week! Today was the first day since Friday I didn't buy one thing for Owen... my wallet thanks me. I never thought I would have so much fun shopping. Of course I LOVE shopping for myself, but when we went shopping, I squeal every time I find something cute for a little boy. Which is a rare occasion b/c there is not that much cute stuff out there for boys!

Hope everyone is having a good week. This time last year, we were in full on 'wedding week' mode counting down until our May 23rd wedding. This year, we are in full on 'Owen' mode and preparing for everything baby boy. What a difference a year makes!

Mother's Day

I realize I'm about a week late on this post but oh well.....

Sunday, my first 'unofficial' Mother's day was amazing! I woke up to coffee and kisses from my amazing husband. We then went over to my parent's house and headed on to Kemah for the day! We had reservations at Landry's on the second floor looking over the water and it was delicious. We walked around and Jer won a Texas Tech basketball for (we didn't know it then) Owen!

In other news.... we finished painting Owen's nursery, have ordered all of this furniture and have shopped our hiney's off for the cutest little boy clothes we can find! Pictures to come.

We're Having A............

We had our anatomy appointment today and found out we are having a baby boy!!!!!!!!

Owen is perfectly healthy and growing. More than anything, it was such a blessing knowing I have a healthy baby growing inside me. HONESTLY... I know people say, 'I don't care as long as it's healthy'... but at the end of the day, it does not matter what is between those tiny little legs, it matters more if it's little heart is strong and beating and they have 10 fingers and 10 toes (and 2 testicles in this case! ha!)

I am in love with the fact that we are having a boy! I thought I really wanted a little girl, for the simple fact of little girl's clothes are to die for... but I cried (happy tears) as soon as she told us it was a boy. Just knowing I will be holding the hand of a tiny little boy that will be half the love of my life and half me was (is) overwhelming. I could not wait to get in the stores to start shopping! The only thing I bought before we knew what it was were books, because those are unisex for the most part.

I promise, more pictures to come later on... but I am so tired! We texted the picture below to our siblings and closest friends. (our parents were in the room with us!)

We bought Owen's bedding today and are getting paint for his room and his furniture tomorrow! So excited!

Preggers Post

I want to document this time in Jer and I's life... and that's precisely why I started this blog. So.... I am going to do a once-a-week post all about how my pregnancy is progressing!

Me: I am 17 weeks and 4 days along today. Today I had a burst of energy and cleaned the whole house, went grocery shopping and made dinner. This would be a normal day for me before I was pregnant, but this is the first day I have really felt good enough to go non-stop. Last week, Jer had to come pick me up from a school I was subbing at because I almost passed out during recess. Apparently, this is totally normal during pregnancy. I have found that I need to constantly be drinking water and never have an empty stomach. This sounds simple enough, but I never really know when i'm hungry because I don't really feel hungry, I just carry a snack with me at all times and have to remind myself to eat something before I start feeling bad. It's weird, because before I was pregnant, I would be starving for lunch or starving for dinner. Now, I have to remind myself to eat. (This would have been nice before I got pregnant!)

Baby: The baby is now the size of an onion! (or about 5 inches long) I have felt little bubbles roll across my stomach, which I am told is kicking.

Maternity Clothes: The only things I have bought that are maternity are shorts and jeans. Most of my tops and dresses still fit. The most comfortable thing I like to wear right now are short, cotton dresses. I actually just got two today at Old Navy on clearance.

Hubby: Jer is so excited about our baby and rubs my belly all the time. He is surprised every time he sees my naked belly, like he forgets that i'm pregnant. He is standing strong that the baby is a boy! I haven't really felt anything either way, but for some reason lately I have a feeling it's a boy. Nothing concrete, just a feeling. We will find out a week from tomorrow!

Cravings: I really don't have any weird or urgent cravings. Things I find myself grabbing are bagels and cream cheese, water and gatorade and chips and salsa.

I've already posted a belly pic, so I will leave you with a picture of my Lola bear swimming in her new pool in our backyard. About 20 minutes after the picture below was taken, Lola jumped up on the door and locked me out for a good 30 minutes until Jer could come home and let me in! (Thank God for Jer)

A-MAY-Zing Grace

Grace Campbell Glover was welcomed into the world yesterday! I don't want to post all her info, i'll let her Mommy do that! But, Jeremy and I met her yesterday afternoon and she is beautiful! Here are some pictures I snapped yesterday of Gracie Girl...

Funny story- I was outside tanning yesterday morning when Lola went crazy howling at the dog next door. Not sure why, but she hates this dog. So I put her inside and went back to tanning. When i got up to go inside, I was locked out. She must have jumped up on the door and hit the lock. I couldn't help but laugh, because she was looking at me through the window and had no idea why I was sitting outside. I called Jer (who thankfully works 5 minutes from our house) and he came to let me in. So today, I will be making a trip to Home Depot to get an extra key made to hide somewhere in case this happens again!

Material Girl

Color on toenails.. haven't gotten around to painting my fingernails..

OPI Cajun Shrimp

Lotion I am LOVING right now.. (Thanks Mom ;))

Philosophy 'Amazing Grace'

Book I am dying to read when it comes out on Tuesday...

'Dead in the Family' by Charlaine Harris- the 10th book in the Sookie Stackhouse series which True Blood is based on.

Deal I can't get over....

Simply Vera Wang sandals from Kohl's that were originally $60 and I got them for $5!! No joke!

This weekend, Jeremy had a company Crawfish boil on Sunday, which was really fun! We only took a couple pictures and they are on his phone, so I will post those later. We came home, took a long nap and tried out a mexican restaurant that just opened... it was yummy! After dinner, we finally watched Avatar and it was very good! We are definitely taking advantage of the free time we have now for napping and date nights.

Today, my parents helped us all day with landscaping our front yard!! They also bought Lola a cute little plastic pool for the backyard since she loves swimming so much in their backyard. She didn't know what to do with it at first, but every time we have let her in from outside today, her feet are wet!

Here is a 17 week picture of my belly...

Hopefully everyone had a fun weekend and has a great week!! I am so anxious for Tuesday, when one of my amazing friends will welcome her little girl, Grace Kampbell, into the world!
