Preggers Post

I want to document this time in Jer and I's life... and that's precisely why I started this blog. So.... I am going to do a once-a-week post all about how my pregnancy is progressing!

Me: I am 17 weeks and 4 days along today. Today I had a burst of energy and cleaned the whole house, went grocery shopping and made dinner. This would be a normal day for me before I was pregnant, but this is the first day I have really felt good enough to go non-stop. Last week, Jer had to come pick me up from a school I was subbing at because I almost passed out during recess. Apparently, this is totally normal during pregnancy. I have found that I need to constantly be drinking water and never have an empty stomach. This sounds simple enough, but I never really know when i'm hungry because I don't really feel hungry, I just carry a snack with me at all times and have to remind myself to eat something before I start feeling bad. It's weird, because before I was pregnant, I would be starving for lunch or starving for dinner. Now, I have to remind myself to eat. (This would have been nice before I got pregnant!)

Baby: The baby is now the size of an onion! (or about 5 inches long) I have felt little bubbles roll across my stomach, which I am told is kicking.

Maternity Clothes: The only things I have bought that are maternity are shorts and jeans. Most of my tops and dresses still fit. The most comfortable thing I like to wear right now are short, cotton dresses. I actually just got two today at Old Navy on clearance.

Hubby: Jer is so excited about our baby and rubs my belly all the time. He is surprised every time he sees my naked belly, like he forgets that i'm pregnant. He is standing strong that the baby is a boy! I haven't really felt anything either way, but for some reason lately I have a feeling it's a boy. Nothing concrete, just a feeling. We will find out a week from tomorrow!

Cravings: I really don't have any weird or urgent cravings. Things I find myself grabbing are bagels and cream cheese, water and gatorade and chips and salsa.

I've already posted a belly pic, so I will leave you with a picture of my Lola bear swimming in her new pool in our backyard. About 20 minutes after the picture below was taken, Lola jumped up on the door and locked me out for a good 30 minutes until Jer could come home and let me in! (Thank God for Jer)

XOXO Haley

  2. love all the info!!

you see, right now I know 21+ people who are preg and most of them are having girls- so one might assume you were having a girl.

BUT I think you are having a boy because of the way your mom called about Owen. Ya know? I think there was a reason for that- like HE is meant to be. :) We'll see- CAN'T WAIT!!!

  5. Aw I love this post! It reminds me so much of where I was 15 or so months ago. Good golly, how things change!
I love, love, love Lola in her pool. Jethro hijacked Liam's pool, too. Will Lola lay down in hers? Jethro won't lay in ours when it has water in it- he just stands in it, and drinks out of it. When there's no water, he uses it as a bed. Crazy dogs!
