Here is a sneak peak of what we are doing with Owen's nursery... we have the room painted and new blinds and a new fan installed. We have ordered the crib, changing table/dresser, glider and rug! We ordered all of the furniture this past Saturday and have already received his crib mattress. We found a perfect bookshelf at Home Goods on Sunday that is already filled with his goodies! We definitely aren't wasting anytime getting his room ready. Here are some pictures of what we have...
Along with the main colors of blue, green and chocolate brown, we are also adding pops of bright orange around the room.
I am 19 weeks and 2 days today... not much has changed pregnancy wise. Other than the fact that we actually know we are having a boy and can stop guessing! Our ultrasound couldn't have gone better, as soon as the ultrasound tech started moving the sonogram thing on my belly, I could see his little pee pee. Then she asked, 'do you want to know what it is?' We all (me, Jer, my mom, my dad and Jer's mom) said 'YES!' and she said... 'it's a boy!'. I started crying and Jer had a little tear in his eye. It was an odd feeling FINALLY knowing what we are going to have. I had a proud feeling right after knowing that we are going to have a little boy. Jer took a picture of the ultrasound screen that said it was a boy with an arrow pointing at his pee pee and sent it to our siblings then close friends.
After our ultrasound, I had a checkup with my OB who said Owen is weighing in at a healthy 10 ounces and that everything from the ultrasound looked 'normal' and healthy. She also said I have gained 3 pounds this whole pregnancy, which is kind of unbelievable. I definitely don't miss a meal these days and have regular snack time every hour or so!
Well, that's about it from this week! Today was the first day since Friday I didn't buy one thing for Owen... my wallet thanks me. I never thought I would have so much fun shopping. Of course I LOVE shopping for myself, but when we went shopping, I squeal every time I find something cute for a little boy. Which is a rare occasion b/c there is not that much cute stuff out there for boys!
Hope everyone is having a good week. This time last year, we were in full on 'wedding week' mode counting down until our May 23rd wedding. This year, we are in full on 'Owen' mode and preparing for everything baby boy. What a difference a year makes!

I'm in love with what you're doing in Owen's nursery. It's going to be so precious, all together.
ReplyDeleteI KNOW how much fun you're having shopping right now- I was much the same way. The day we found out that Liam was a Liam and not an E*** we went to lunch (AT LOPEZ!) with our parents and then headed straight to Babies R Us- my MIL even took the rest of the day off to shop.
I need to message you some of the things we've used the most in our first 10 months. I bought so much stuff and a lot of it we haven't used... ooops!!
Wow! What a difference indeed! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the nursery and I think the pops of orange will look awesome!
I love what you've chosen for his nursery-- the wall color is fantastic! And you know that I of all people support pops of bright orange anywhere and everywhere!! :) His room is definitely one that can "grow" with him, you'll appreciate that in a couple of years... you look beautiful! Hooray for sweet baby boys.
