San Antonio and SJP

Hola amigos.... on Thursday, Jeremy and I woke up at the butt crack of dawn (4:45) AM to drive to San Antonio. Jer had to catch a flight to Las Vegas, so right when we got to SA, I dropped gamblin man off at the airport. He trekked off to Vegas for the weekend while I got to spend a much-needed girls weekend with my BFF Christy!

When I got to her house, she had a fresh pot of coffee and a comfy couch waiting for me! We lounged for a couple hours, grabbed lunch at a cute little soup and salad place, and started shopping! We went to Kohl's first, where we both got some really cute dresses (on sale!).. then went to Garden Ridge. I told Christy that was looking for some 'Mexican' shirts for when my belly gets bigger, because I knew San Antonio would be the best place (next to Mexico) to grab some for cheap. Well, her sister had actually found some adorable Mexican dresses at Garden Ridge! Of all the places!! So, we moseyed on down to old Garden Ridge and found so many dresses, it was hard to choose a color. Oh yeah, and they were $10!

That evening, we went over to Christy's parent's house to watch Brooke, her niece! Brooke is adorable and we had so much fun playing with her.

Friday, we went to the River Walk and shopped some more! It sounds like all we did was shop (and eat!) but I promise you, I didn't spend more than $100 the whole weekend. I am a bargain shopper and I pride myself on it. I don't see the point in spending a lot of money on something I won't want to wear next year! If i can't get it on sale or with a coupon, I usually don't get it or wait until it goes on sale. Call me cheap, I refer to it as thrifty!

Anywho, Friday evening we relaxed and watched the movie 'Princess and The Frog'. So cute and there was a bloodhound in it! SCORE.

Saturday we went to a cute shopping center called La Cantera. We lunched and I searched for a cute pair of black sandals. Finding sandals wasn't a success, but lunch definitely was.

Christy also introduced me to an amazing frozen yogurt place called 'Orange Cup'... AMAZING.

Saturday night, we enjoyed a cookout at Christy's parent's house and then it was time to pick Jer up from the airport!

Sadly, we left San Antone Sunday afternoon and were worn out from fun weekends on both parts!

Hope everyone is having a great week.. i'll be back with a 'Material Girl' post later this week to show you some of the stuff I got this weekend.

I leave you with a 16 week prego pic!!

XOXO Haley

P.S.- Sex and The City fans.... run to your nearest bookstore for 'The Carrie Diaries' is out! I got a copy today and can't wait to read it. AND have you seen this month's issue of Vogue?? Can't get enough SJP!
Now off to watch the premiere of 'The City'!

Nursery Inspiration

This post is going to be a huge mix of everything that I like right now for nurseries. I have no idea how to do a cute little inspiration board, so there are a LOT of pictures! First, here is what I am now (I say now because I change my mind all the time) liking for a boy's nursery...

For the bedding...

It is Argington Organic Bedding 'Fish and Pebbles'

If we got this bedding, I am not quite sure what color we would paint the walls... but I think this color would look good with dark brown wood furniture.

I love the idea of doing a graphic print wallpaper on one wall in the nursery (like Tori Spelling). But I have yet to find a wallpaper that isn't too girly.

Earlier this week, I got a catalog in the mail from a place called 'At West End' I immediately fell in LOVE with everything in this catalog! Especially these big metal letters. I would love an 'O' or an 'S' somewhere in the nursery.

As I have said before, I am stumped when it comes to decorating a boy's nursery... either everything I see is too boring or too girly. I want a bright, cheery nursery that is more 'kid' than 'baby'.

Now, for the girl...

I am pretty set on this bedding for a girl, it is also Argington Organic baby bedding called 'Hearts and Flowers'.

I would love to do this bedding with a white crib, a bright painted dresser (maybe lavender?) and girly stuff everywhere.

OK, I know these are dish towels, but almost every gadget in our kitchen is this Martha Stewart turquoise color and I love it. Here is the color I am thinking for the walls.

Here are some of the accessories I found on At West End that I think Sloane (if Baby Sturgeon is a girl) would love to admire while in her room.

OK, that's all for the nursery inspiration! I know it's all over the place, but I need to put all the ideas running around in my head down somewhere.

Here are some other things from At West End that I am loving..

To hang wet suits on in the summer time.

To display cards in a dainty way.

And to decorate a bottle of wine (when I can enjoy it again.. in about 6 months or so!!!!)

Other than that... Jer is getting ready to jet off to Vegas, I am getting my outfits together for San Antonio, and Lola is packing her bag to stay with my parents all weekend! I need to do a last-minute shopping trip for some cute dresses I saw online last night.

Speaking of shopping, I forgot to blog about my fun day shopping last Friday with my bf Ivy! We went to 'Nordstrom Rack'.. not that impressed, but the shoe selection was amazing. We lunched and then checked out Old Navy! I was bummed because more and more Old Navy stores are starting to weed out their maternity line and just carry it online. BUT I did find some cute stuff. A top that I can grow with for $1.50 (no joke!) and a lovely printed tee for plenty of space for baby for a whopping $4.00!! Love me a deal.

15 weeks and a Wedding

This past weekend was definitely fun yet relaxing. Saturday morning, we woke up bright and early and cleaned the whole house! We then got ready to go to a friend from high school's wedding in Tomball. Sean & Rachael's wedding was at La Tranquila Ranch, which was beautiful! I was nervous about the dress I was wearing, because it was not maternity and I had purchased it about a month ago. I started getting ready Saturday afternoon, and noticed a baby bump that I swear was not there the day before.

The wedding was about an hour drive from our house, so we decided to stop at a cute little restaurant with a patio beforehand to enjoy drinks and appetizers. It was in a place called Vintage Park, which had lots of little shops and cute restaurants. Here we are with Jer's brother and my parents!

Our friends Brittany and James at the wedding.

And without further adieu.. a 15 week (and 1 day) baby bump picture. My face is NOT in this picture, because I had a horrible headache all day, and my face definitely showed evidence of that! Not sure if you can even tell I have a bump in this pic yet...

On Sunday, Jer and I woke up to POURING rain, so we decided to grab some lunch, make a quick trip to Wal Mart, and enjoy the rest of the rainy day watching movies!

In other news.... we get to find out if we are having a Sloane or an Owen on May 14th!! We asked our mom's to go along with us to the appointment and they are so excited. We are going to make a day of it with lunching and of course some baby shopping afterwards.

On Thursday, Jer and I are heading up to San Antonio to see my best friend Christy!! Well, I am going to see Christy, Jer is going to fly on to Vegas for a boy's weekend with my brother and some work buddies! Christy and I have pedicures, lunching, movie-watching and shopping planned! Hope everyone's week is going swell.

P.S.- I have changed my mind (yet again) on nursery decor, those pictures to come soon!

Maternity Style

Happy Hump Day!! Jeremy and I just got home from a great dinner with friends and drinks (for Jer) out on the patio at a wine bar. We are taking advantage of the time we have no with no kids and going out as much as we can!

I am finally starting to get a bit of a belly. As exciting as that is, I feel like I'm in between 'normal' clothes and maternity clothes. I was standing in my closet the other day complaining about this to Jer, not even really knowing if he was listening. Well, he was! Because a few days later, I got this little present in the mail...

I don't want to buy a whole new wardrobe for the next 6 months... but I also don't want to look like I am squeezing every last inch of myself into my 'normal' clothes... this book is perfect for those women who are in the middle somewhere. And my husband is perfect for knowing exactly what I need. (gag- but I do love him more than words)

Other than whining about my lack of belly-accommodating clothes, Jeremy and I have been filling up our social calendar this summer! I think we are both in the mode of 'pack everything we can into the months before October'... not that we feel like our lives are ending when the baby comes, but we know it will be 10 times harder to pick up and go to dinner, or go away for the weekend without much planning.

So, we are planning on going on a vacation with my family at the end of June to Colorado. We are staying in a house on a river in Estes Park! I can't wait to go back to Colorado, Jeremy and I went a few years ago for a wedding and fell in love. At the end of July, we are taking our 'babymoon'. A couple of people asked me exactly what a babymoon was and it is just the last 'hurrah' before baby comes! We are going to Horseshoe Bay which is right outside of Austin. Here are some pictures...

We have an OB appointment tomorrow morning.. not sure what to expect. I think we're listening to the heartbeat and scheduling when we get to find out the sex of the baby! I really thought I would be more anxious to find out what we are having, but I feel like this pregnancy is going by so fast, that I am trying to savor every moment. Plus, I will be happy either way and I don't think it will feel real until i'm actually holding our baby.

I hope everyone is having a great week! I promise, I will get belly pictures up soon. I took one at twelve weeks when I was barely showing and i'll take another one this Sunday when i'm 15 weeks!!

XOXO Haley

P.S.- I just re-read this post and it sounds like I am complaining or not excited about being pregnant... umm I SO AM!! It all doesn't seem real yet. It seems like I don't feel good, my waist is getting fuller and I haven't had a period in 4 months just because. I felt the same way when I was planning our wedding. It just felt like I was going through the steps and it didn't hit me until we were on our honeymoon... oh snap, we're married. Maybe I am a late bloomer in that sense, but I am thinking when we are told whether we are having a boy or a girl, I will finally 'feel' pregnant. Does anyone else know what i'm talking about??

Easter Weekend

I'm about a week late on my Easter post... but better late than never, right?

This Easter was Brock's first Easter, so my sister, her husband and Brock all came down to celebrate! We also celebrated my sister's 29th birthday (which is on the 16th). Friday night, they got in and we ate dinner and gave Brock his Easter presents from Aunt Haley and Uncle Jerbo.

On Saturday, we tried to take pictures of Brock in his bunny costume, but he wasn't loving it. Then Taylor and Grayson came over for a swim!

Saturday evening, we celebrated Amber's birthday by going out to Lopez and then cake and ice cream back at my parent's house! We also colored eggs.

Sunday morning we woke up to find goodies from The Easter Bunny... and Lola passed out from all the excitement on the way home.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday so far... sorry for the lack of posting, I haven't been feeling well lately. I could have sworn the second trimester was supposed to be amaziing? I'll let you know when I start feeling amazing.

Wearing Heels During Pregnancy

OK, I have been doing research online on whether or not pregnant women should wear heels. Mixed reviews. A lot of people say no because during pregnancy, a woman's center of gravity changes. Other people say it's fine, just not to be on your feet forever in heels. Well, I am going to an outside wedding in a few weeks and I am only 13.5 weeks along, so I know they would be fine to wear then. I just don't know how much use I would get out of them when my belly gets bigger. Any comments/opinions are welcome! P.S.- Here is the pair I am going Lady Gaga over...

I would only wear them on special occasions and when I wasn't going to be on my feet/walking for a long time.
